A Q13Fox viewer directed officers to an apartment at Meridian Pointe Sunday, where they located a man recently featured on WA's Most Wanted.

PUYALLUP, WA — Puyallup police made several rewarding arrests over the past week, including a man accused of sex crimes against a 5-year-old girl, a dad who left his 4-year-old child in the backseat of his car while he visited and drank at a local tavern, and a guy with multiple warrants who allegedly stole his own mother's car.

Those stories and more are below in this iteration of the Puyallup police crime blotter, covering select incidents between June 11 and 17.

Vehicle Recovery

1103 River Rd. - Herb’s Towing

Herb’s Towing impounded an abandoned vehicle from Fife. It was later reported stolen out of Tacoma. An officer responded and had the vehicle removed from WACIC/NCIC.

Found Property

1400-block of 10th Avenue Southeast

The resident located an iPad in their trash can. An officer contacted AppleCare and provided them the serial number. AppleCare will try and locate the owner. The iPad was booked into property for safekeeping.

209 21st Ave. S.W. - Chestnut Hills Apartments

A woman reported her debit card was used to make a fraudulent $130 purchase at a Target in Florida.

Warrant Arrest/Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia

3511 Fifth St. S.E. - Lowe's

An officer responding to a suspicious vehicle report located two men and one woman in a red/maroon 1997 Mercury Cougar behind Lowe's Home Improvement. After meeting the trio, the officer learned one of the men — the driver — had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

After searching the man, the officer found half-a-gram of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Hit & Run

3700-block of South Meridian

While driving on Meridian, a female driver struck the victim’s vehicle and left the scene. The victim attempted to get the attention of the driver, however she kept driving. A license plate was obtained, and contact was made at the driver’s residence. She stated the victim vehicle had struck her. She was subsequently arrested for hit & run.

DUI / Hit & Run

600-block of Second Avenue Northeast

A drunk driver who was seen hitting an unoccupied vehicle and then fleeing the area was later arrested after officers found the man pulled over on 13th Avenue Northwest, inspecting the damage — which included the loss of his bumper, which police found with the license plate still attached.

Vehicle Theft

600-block of 15th Street Southeast

The victim reported her green 1999 Honda Civic stolen. The vehicle had both license plates attached. It was entered as stolen.

Motor Vehicle - Fatality Collision

2900 Fifth St. S.E.

A man who was seen speeding before he crashed his car into a light pole at the access road to Pierce College, next to Bradley Lake Park, was later pronounced dead at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, according to police.

DUI – Alcohol

400 Second St. N.E.

A drunk driver returned BAC samples nearly double the legal limit after hitting a parked car as he was heading home from work. He was arrested.

2100 E. Pioneer

An officer pulled over a man who was seen driving the wrong direction on a one-way street. He provided BAC samples double the legal limit and was subsequently arrested.

Vehicle Theft

700-block of River Road

The victim called to report a Tan/Gold 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been stolen. The vehicle was onsite when he arrived at 8 a.m. and was missing a few minutes later. Security video captured the theft. The vehicle was entered in WACIC/NCIC as stolen.

Fraud – Identity Theft

3400-block of Crystal Ridge Drive Southeast

A victim reported that someone has been using her information to open numerous credit card accounts. She has received decline letters and credit cards in the mail that she had not applied for.

Warrant Arrest

1000-block of South Meridian

A man who was riding his bicycle without a helmet was stopped by bike officers. After checking the man's record, the officers learned he had a local warrant for theft and drug-related crimes. He was arrested.

Runaway Recovery

333 S. Meridian - City Hall

A runaway teen was returned to Child Protective Services after officers found him loitering along with two other individuals in the City Hall parking garage after business hours.

Fraud

1100-block of 11th Street Northwest

A couple who lost their debit card sometime between late May and early June reported it was used between June 3 and June 10 in Tacoma, Bonney Lake, Seattle, and California. The couple said 23 fraudulent charges amounting to nearly $400 were made.

Assist to Fire

429 Ninth Ave. N.E. - Veterans Park

An area resident discovered a male lying in the street on his back. The male was extremely pale and not breathing. The resident began CPR while another citizen called 911. The 70-year-old male, was treated by (fire personnel). They were able to establish a pulse and he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

4102 S. Meridian

A victim reported that someone had used his Best Buy credit card information to make a $1,208.85 purchase at Best Buy. He was still in possession of the card and did not know how the suspect obtained the card information.

Road Rage/Vandalism

502 37th Ave. S.E. - Jackson Shell

A woman said her car was scratched from one corner to the other along the driver's side by another woman who had followed her to the Jackson Shell while shouting obscenities. The victim told police her car was scratched while she went inside the station to evade the other driver, who was described as a 20-something white woman with red hair.

407 Valley Ave. N.E.

A female called to report her front license plate was stolen. It’s unknown when the plate was taken. The plate was entered as stolen and the rear plate was taken for destruction.

Fraud / Identity Theft

303 35th Ave. S.E. - The Home Depot

A woman whose car was burglarized at The Home Depot in Bonney Lake reported the fraudulent use of multiple credit cards at numerous locations, totaling roughly $480 in charges.

Warrant / Weapons Violation

3500 S. Meridian - South Hill Mall

A man with no fewer than four warrants for both Puyallup police and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department was spotted walking away from a car that officers later learned he stole from his own mother. After the man's arrest, officers seized an illegal butterfly knife from his pocket.

201 37th Ave. S.E. - Harbor Freight Tools

The victim’s white 1993 Geo Metro was stolen from the parking lot. It had been left unlocked with a spare key inside. It was entered as stolen.

Theft / Trespass

310 31st Ave. S.E. - Walmart

A female was arrested for shoplifting, and she was found to have previously been trespassed from Walmart. She was booked.

UPDP

719 River Rd. - Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Bike officers contacted a suspicious vehicle containing a male at this location. Drug paraphernalia could be seen in plain view, and he admitted that he had smoked methamphetamine with the paraphernalia earlier in the day. He was cited.

Theft

3500 S. Meridian - Dick’s Sporting Goods

A white male stole four golf clubs valued at $600 and fled in a white Honda Accord. Possible suspect information. Report to ISU.

Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia / Warrant

3310 S. Meridian - Target

A male, who happens to be a repeat shoplifter, was arrested for felony and misdemeanor PPD warrants. Search incident to arrest, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine was located on his person. He was booked.

Abandonment of Dependent Person

100 E. Pioneer

While on their Meeker Days foot patrol, Explorers located a vehicle that had been driven around the barricades and was parked between vendor tents. A four-year-old child was alone, sleeping in the backseat. An officer eventually located the father of the child, who had been at a nearby bar.

The child had been left for at least 20 minutes in the abandoned vehicle. The father was arrested and booked. The child’s biological mother responded and took custody of the child.

The victim’s white/black mountain bike was stolen from the front porch.

DUI

900-block of South Meridian

A man provided BAC samples slightly above the legal limit after officers pulled him over for driving the wrong direction on a one-way street. The man reportedly admitted to have been drinking at a local bar. He was arrested.

No Business/Soliciting license PMC infraction- cited

323 S. Meridian - Library Parking lot

A male parked his ice cream scooter in the fire lane next to the Library and was loitering the sidewalk/artwork engaging kids/adults next to the Meeker Day’s booths. He appeared to be soliciting business for the sweet treats, while music blared from his scooter.

When the officer pulled up, the male made eye contact with the officer and walked away into the park. With no one around, the officer took the keys from the vending ice cream truck and stood by for several minutes, but the male did not return.

Instead, he hung out at a nearby fruit stand loitering for quite some time sampling, then eventually purchased a pound of the delicious Yakima Cherries to-go while still waiting for the officer to leave.

Since he did not leave, the male contacted the officer claiming he was only there to purchase cherries and was not selling sweet treats. He wanted his keys back. He did not have a business license to be selling. Not sure why he was blaring ice cream music if this was the case, but his explanation was certainly "the pits."

The other good news is that he now has his daily allotment of healthy snack foods and fiber and not just chocolate, tacos and ice cream push-ups in his diet.

DOC Warrant Arrest - America’s Most Wanted subject

407 Valley Ave. N.E. - Meridian Pointe Apartments

Puyallup police on Sunday arrested a man who was recently featured on Washington's Most Wanted (Q13 Fox). A viewer reportedly spotted the man at Meridian Pointe and called authorities.

The man, 32-year-old Kenneth Wilson, was wanted by DOC in Snohomish County for sex crimes against a 5-year-old girl that occurred in 2009. He was arrested without incident.

Agency Assist / K9 Capture

A Puyallup police K9 team tracked and arrested a man who escaped from the patrol car of a Pierce County Sheriff's deputy. The man was reportedly found hiding under a car in a garage.

4100-block of South Meridian

A Honda Accord stolen from Puyallup was found dumped in this neighborhood.

Agency Assist / K9 Sniff / Search Warrant

3900 S. Meridian - Meridian Firs Apartments

A Puyallup police K9 team was used to locate methamphetamine during a traffic stop initiated by Washington State Patrol. The driver was arrested.

204 Valley Ave. N.E. - Chevron

A woman who was arrested after officers spotted her driving a stolen vehicle was also reportedly carrying heroin and meth. She was taken to Pierce County jail.

Vehicle Prowl

1021 N. Meridian - Crossroads Apartments

A woman caught a car prowler in the act around 4:30 a.m. After he was spotted, the man escaped with two handbags. He is described as white, in his 30s, roughly 5-foot-5 and 170 pounds, with a blonde goatee. At the time of the burglary he was wearing a black beanie, a black sweater, and black shorts.
