Dozens Of Pets Need Homes After Fire At Puyallup Animal Shelter
To help the cats and dogs at Sunny Sky's Animal Rescue, an adoption event has been planned for this weekend.
PUYALLUP, WA — A fire this week at a Puyallup animal shelter has volunteers scrambling to adopt out some pets who are now desperately in need of a new home.
Central Pierce Fire and Rescue confirmed that on Tuesday, Sunny Sky's Animal Rescue in Puyallup suffered an electrical fire. According to Sunny Sky's, no one was near the fire zone at the time so no volunteers or animals were hurt, but they did have to be evacuated from the building, and they're now hoping the public can help out by adopting some of their rescued pets.
To help as many pets as possible find new forever homes, Sunny Sky's is hosting an adoption event this Saturday at the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse in Sumner. A full list of the shelter's adoptable cats and dogs can be found on their website.

Anyone who wants to adopt a fuzzy new family member will have to move quickly. The shelter says they'll only be adopting pets to pre-approved applicants. Interested parties can get an application by sending an email to info@sunnyskysshelter.org. Applications will only be accepted before 1 p.m. on Friday.
Others who can't take in a new pet right now but still want to help out, can donate by giving something from the shelter's wishlist.
