Pierce County residents have several ways to receive live alerts, find plowed roads, check traffic cameras and more. Here's how.

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Significant snowfall is headed to the Puget Sound, and Pierce County is going to see some of the worst of it. As a result, snow plows and first responders are on high alert across the south sound.

While some communities will wake up with snow on the ground Friday, forecasters expect more significant impacts beginning in the evening and into Saturday morning. For those who can, staying off the roads will be the safest option. For those who must brave the elements, there are quite a few tools to help plan a route.
