Pioneer Way Will Remain Closed Due To Landslide: Police

A landslide blocking East Pioneer Way will keep the road closed, Puyallup police say.

PUYALLUP, WA - East Pioneer Way will remain closed through at least Monday due a landslide over the roadway, Puyallup police said on Sunday night.

The slide happened on Saturday afternoon, and Pioneer Way is blocked on the east side from Sumner at SR 162 and on the west side is just past Shaw Road.

This is at least the third closure of this stretch of Pioneer Way - between 134th Avenue East and Shaw Road - since the beginning of February. Police were warning drivers to avoid the area.
