Police Search For Home Invasion, Attempted Sexual Assault Suspect

Police say the man broke into a condo late last month and attacked the 77-year-old woman inside. They are offering a $1,000 reward for info.

TACOMA, WA — The Tacoma Police Department is asking the public for help tracking down the suspect behind a recent home invasion and attempted sexual assault.

Officers say the attack happened on back April 25, at a condo on South Cedar Street in Tacoma. The suspect broke into the condo, and attempted to sexually assault the 77-year-old woman living inside. She was hurt in the attack, and ended up suffering a concussion.

The suspect then escaped and police haven't been able to track him down. He is described as a white man, around 40 years old and roughly 5'6" or 5'7" tall with a medium build.

At the time of the attack, he was wearing a long dark jacket, dark pants, white tennis shoes and a blue disposable mask. The hat he is seen wearing in the surveillance footage of the attack was later found on a nearby trail.

Crimestoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County are offering a reward of up to $1000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone who knows anything about this attack can submit an anonymous tip to Crimestoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS.
