Puyallup Cancels Summer Concerts In The Park
The City of Puyallup has announced that the annual concert series has been canceled due to concerns about coronavirus transmissions.

PUYALLUP, WA — The coronavirus pandemic has claimed yet another celebration this summer. City of Puyallup Parks & Recreation have announced that the annual Summer Concerts in the Parks series will be cancelled this year.
Normally, the Summer Concert in the Parks series runs through July and August, with singers, bands and other entertainers taking the stage every Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening. But because of the pandemic that won't be happening this summer: officials say its just too much of a risk to bring so many people close to each other.
Puyallup Parks & Recreation say the concerts have been very popular the last few years, and they understand that many will be disappointed, but that they couldnt find a safe way to bring the shows back:

"We are disappointed that we will not be able to offer the series this year, but the health and safety of the public, staff, crew and performers must take precedence."
Parks across Puyallup are still open, but the city is asking visitors to follow a few safety restrictions including:

- Wear masks to keep yourself and others safe
- Keep six feet apart from others
- Bring your own hand sanitizer
- Stay home if you are feeling ill
The city also recommends visiting parks closer to home when possible, to avoid potentially spreading the virus across the area.
