Puyallup Food Bank Seeks Donations As Demand For Food Grows

The food bank says they're working to make ends meet, but they need a little assistance to go the last mile. Here's how you can help.

PUYALLUP, WA — The Puyallup Food Bank has had its hands full during the COVID-19 pandemic, and while they're thankful for all the support they've received from the community during this difficult year, they're hoping the community can rally for another round of donations to help see this month through.

"My team and I are working on this challenge, and we are implementing some solutions for the long term," writes CEO Shawn Manley. "I share this because I want you to know that our work is not easy, and your encouragement, prayers, advice, financial support, and other efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us serve our neighbors in need."

As Manley explains in the latest post to the food bank's website, they're particularly short on macaroni, cheese, soup, and canned vegetables. The food bank accepts donations any time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There are other ways the community can help support the food bank as well. Friday and Saturday the bank will be selling Mother's Day gift baskets at the South Hill Mall to help raise money and support their operations. They'll be at the mall from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The food bank says their gift baskets are spa and gardening themed, and their prices range between $40 and $100.
