Puyallup School District Announces Vaccine Clinic For Students

PUYALLUP, WA — The Puyallup School District has announced an upcoming vaccination clinic that will be offering free vaccination to all students 12 and older.

The district had previously announced that they will be returning to a full-time, in-person learning schedule this fall. The vaccination clinic is part of their effort to make that transition back into the classroom as safe as possible.

The district is not requiring students to take the COVID-19 vaccine, but will enforce masking and social distancing restrictions.

The vaccine clinic will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on May 26 at Rogers High School. Students who get their first dose of the vaccine at the clinic will be automatically enrolled to get their second dose at a follow-up clinic on June 16. Enrolled kids will skip their homeroom classes those days to get their shots.

Parents who want their children to take part will need to schedule an online appointment here. They'll also need to print and sign consent forms, found here.

The clinic was made possible through a partnership with Kirk's Pharmacy, and the district says students who can't make the May 26 clinic should consider scheduling an independent vaccine appointment at the pharmacy or at any participating pharmacy found on the DOH vaccine locator.

Children 12 - 18 are only eligible to receive the 2-dose Pfizer vaccine, which was approved for use in children 12-15 in Washington just last week.
