Puyallup Schools To Return For Full-Time In-Person This Fall
Students will need to continue following pandemic safety guidelines for the near future, however.
PUYALLUP, WA — The Puyallup School District is inviting all students back into the classroom for the upcoming 2021-22 school year.
The district confirms students will be in-person full-time, five days a week starting in fall. However, students will also need to continue following some pandemic safety regulations for the foreseeable future, including wearing masks indoors and physically distancing in the classroom.
The move follows a similar announcement from the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.

The COVID-19 vaccine will not be required for students. The district says that may change if state laws do, though no vaccine has been approved for use in children under 16. Other immunization requirements can be found at the Department of Health's website.
All students are welcome to return to the classroom, though parents whose students have remained fully remote and who want to continue remote learning can do so through the district's revamped "Alternative Learning Experience" program. That program allows families to choose from several remote learning options to find the one that best matches their needs, the district says.

Parents who want their children to remain remote should visit the Puyallup Digital Learning website. Any parent whose child enrolled in the Continuous Distance Learning this last year will also be sent a survey that the district says will help them craft next year's remote learning program.
Other parents who want their kids back in the classroom do not need to register or enroll for a learning model in fall. The district says that, like a regular school year, registration is unnecessary unless your child is new to the district or just entering Kindergarten.
