Puyallup Student Named Winner of Library Card Design Contest
Over 8,000 people voted to pick the two winning cards, both of which were designed by local children.

PUYALLUP, WA — The Pierce County Library System has announced this year's winners for the annual library card design contest. Organizers say this year more than 8,000 voters weighed in to vote on their favorite library card designs, and picked the two winners:
- Logan Wilcox, a student at Brouilett Elementary in Puyallup
- Eliana Parks, a homeschool student from Gig Harbor
"We were blown away by the talent of the students who participated in this contest,” said Pierce County Library Executive Director Georgia Lomax. “Thank you to the more than 8,000 people who cast votes for all of the creative entries, and congratulations to Logan and Eliana!"
Now that the winners have been selected, later this year Pierce County Library members will be able to choose to have their cards printed with either design.

A contest to pick new library card designs is held every year. This year, nearly 300 Pierce County students submitted designs for library cards, all of which were then reviewed by local professional artists who narrowed the field to just six entries in two age groups: elementary school, and middle and high school, which were ultimately won by Logan and Eliana, respectively.
Library organizers says these cards could end up seeing a lot of use: there are nearly 363,000 cardholders active in the Pierce County Library System, and last year Pierce County Libraries issued 37,000 new cards.
