Puyallup Vaccine Clinic Offers Shots To Patients In Phase 1B2

PUYALLUP, WA — The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has announced another free drive-thru vaccine clinic in Puyallup.

But this one has a twist: it is county's first clinic to vaccinate patients who are in Phase 1B2 of the state's vaccine distribution plan.

That's because, effective Wednesday, the state will move into the next phase of distribution. Though registration begins Tuesday, the clinic isn't until Thursday, meaning everyone in 1B2 will be eligible. That includes:

• Workers in agriculture and food processing.
• Grocery store workers.
• Public transit employees.
• First responders, law enforcement, and firefighters.
• Corrections employees at jails and detention centers.
• Anyone 16 and older who is either pregnant or has a disability that puts them at higher risk.

The clinic isn't just for 1B2 patients. Registration is also open to:

• Health care workers.
• Medical first responders.
• Teachers and school support staff.
• Residents and staff of long-term care facilities.
• Anyone 65 and older.
• Residents 50 or older and who live in a multigenerational household.

As with other TPCHD vaccination clinics, to qualify for a shot you should work or live in Pierce County.

Registration for the clinic will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday. When it does, a link to apply will be posted on the health department's website at http://tpchd.org/vaxtothefuture.
