Puyallup's Meeker Days Arts & Music Festival Canceled

The festival had been set for late August, but is now canceled over coronavirus concerns.

PUYALLUP, WA — It's official: the Meeker Days Arts & Music Festival will not go on as scheduled this year.

Earlier this year the Puyallup Main Street Association delayed the festival from June to late August in the hopes that the pandemic would have calmed down enough to continue, but coronavirus cases have surged over the past few weeks, and Monday organizers announced that the fair has been officially cancelled.

Organizers say it was a difficult choice to make, but one they made in the interest of keeping everyone safe and healthy.

The Meeker Days Arts & Music Festival is Pierce County's largest street festival, encompassing a 15 block radius in downtown Puyallup every year. Normally, it's a three-day-long event hosting over 200 vendors and a variety of activities, exhibits, rides and more. Now that the 2020 fair has been canceled, organizers say they're putting their efforts towards an even better fair in the summer of 2021.
