Return Of The Trespassers, Shoplifters: Puyallup Police Blotter
While preparing for an interview to "turn his life around," a man shoplifted cologne and clothing for an upcoming job interview.

PUYALLUP, WA — Several people over the past few days learned the hard way that trespassing orders don't just go away in Puyallup. Additionally, one man learned shoplifting is not the best way to begin turning one's life around.

Trespass Notice - FIR
941 S. Meridian - 7-Eleven

A man hanging around in front of 7-Eleven was reported as an unwanted person after he was observed soliciting and harassing customers for a cup of coffee and food, police said. Eventually the man was officially trespassed from property, "but only after much de-escalation," police said.

Bystanders helped prevent a woman from jumping onto the highway from an overpass light pole. Police took her into custody and delivered her to Good Samaritan Hospital for assistance.
Trespassing 2nd Degree, Drug Paraphernalia
3500 S. Meridian
A woman who'd previously been trespassed indefinitely from the South Hill Mall property was spotted entering JC Penney before crossing the mall parking lot toward Panera Bread.
After police arrived to contact the woman, she was arrested for trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and evidence of previous drug use.
DV Assault
600-block of Fourth Avenue Southwest
A 13-year-old juvenile refused to go to a behavioral program and instead assaulted both his parents. The juvenile’s case worker was contacted and agreed that arrest was the best course of action. He was arrested and booked into Remann Hall.

800-block of East Main Avenue
Between 3-4pm, the victim’s green 1993 Nissan pickup was stolen from the parking lot. Report to ISU.

1601 39th Ave. SE - Pierce College
Between 10:30am – 2:40pm, the victim’s blue 1989 Mazda pickup was stolen from the parking lot. Report to ISU.

The victim’s rear vehicle window was smashed out as it was parked on the street unoccupied
Identity Theft
2500-block of South Meridian
The victim discovered fraudulent transactions on his bank account. Report to ISU.
Disorderly Conduct/Obstructing
1000-block of East Main Avenue
A female was called in for acting erratically in the parking lot. She was yelling at people, disrupting business, and chasing children riding by on bicycles. She was not compliant with the officer and attempted to pull away from him when he was detaining her. She was eventually arrested and booked.
Theft
3500 S. Meridian - Macy's
A white male in his 20s stole eight North Face jackets valued at $560. The suspect fled into the mall and was not located. Report to ISU.
Vehicle Prowl
3000-block of Dunhill Lane
The victim discovered that two of his vehicles had been prowled on 4/15 and again on 4/28.
Theft from Vehicle - Fenced Impound yard (Burglary)
1100-block of East Main Avenue
Sometime Monday night unknown suspects burgled a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, allegedly stealing a diamond tennis bracelet (valued at $1,200), sunglasses, speakers, and tools.
Police collected fingerprints from the scene as well as from a pair of sunglasses dropped outside the car — supposedly by the suspects.
Organized Retail Theft, Trespassing 1st, Burglary, UPCS Heroin/Meth
3500 S. Meridian
A male shoplifted $228 in merchandise to include clothing and cologne in preparation for his upcoming “job interview to turn his life around." Unfortunately, his past is still plaguing him since he had a previously issued Trespass order from the store for past crimes.
Obviously, as someone who prepares himself for life events ahead of time, he came prepared for this crime with scissors for cutting the tags and a stack of receipts he uses for fraudulent cash-back returns. Unfortunately, he forgot about his Heroin and Meth in his pocket.
Booked into PC Jail.
DWLS 3rd/Ignition Interlock Violation
2400 W. Stewart Ave.
A male driver was late returning to work from his extended lunch break. He drew attention to himself by screaming at drivers not reacting to the signal change at the stop light one car in front of the police SUV, then passed this vehicle and sped away 50+ on West Stewart Ave.
The driver was DWLS 3rd, and had no ignition interlock or insurance as required. He never made it back to work from lunch and was instead booked.
DV Malicious Mischief
701 43rd Ave. SE - Glenbrooke Apartments
A male was acting strangely, and possibly under the influence of narcotics, when he threw a large rock through his brother’s 3rd story window, shattering it. He was arrested and booked without incident.

800 Fifth St. SW - Red Lot
Sometime between 6:25am – 5:00pm, the victim’s vehicle window was smashed, and a Kirkland rain jacket was stolen.
Fraud
1112 Ninth St. SE - Country Gables Apartments
The victim discovered over $1,000 had been fraudulently removed from his bank account.
Unlawful Possession Controlled Substance/Warrant/DWLS/Theft/Unlawful Possession Drug Paraphernalia
3310 S. Meridian - Target
An officer located/stopped a suspect vehicle on S Meridian that had just been involved with a shoplift. One female passenger was arrested for the theft and was also found to have a federal DEA warrant for her arrest.
Another female passenger was arrested for a felony UPCS warrant and a PPD Theft warrant.
The male driver was arrested for DWLS and UPDP.
The K9 narcotics detection team conducted a consent search of the vehicle and located small amounts of heroin, methamphetamine and paraphernalia. All stolen property was recovered, and all three were booked.

The victim discovered extensive damage to her vehicle to include dents and broken windows.

3102 Ninth St. SW – Park 'n' Ride
Sometime between 4:20 a.m. and early evening a man's rear bumper, license plate, and tail lamp were stolen from his black 2009 Ford F150 pickup.
DUI – Alcohol
15th Avenue Southwest and South Meridian
A male driver was stopped for improper lane usage and crossing over the center lane several times. After SFST’s were performed, it was determined he was impaired. He provided breath results of 0.203. He did not have any prior DUI arrest. He was administratively booked.
Trespass
1100 N. Meridian - Fred Meyer
A man was stopped in Fred Meyer after he was recognized as someone who'd been previously trespassed from all Fred Meyer locations. He was cited.
Motor Vehicle Recovery
3500 S. Meridian
Located within the Dick's parking lot was a Pierce County stolen vehicle. The registered owner was unable to be contacted therefore the vehicle was impounded. It was removed from the system.
