Shaw Rd./Pioneer Intersection Work Will Cause Delays In Puyallup

PUYALLUP, WA — Road work at the intersection of Shaw Road East and East Pioneer will require multiple temporary lane closures beginning Monday night, according to Puyallup city engineer staff.

From 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, northbound left turns from Shaw Road to Pioneer will be allowed in a limited capacity, though delays should be anticipated. The work will reportedly take roughly six to eight weeks to complete.

The work appears to be related to the development of the 86,000-square-foot Pioneer Crossing shopping center, which is expected to become the new home to a Safeway, Starbucks, and MOD Pizza, among other businesses.

Calls to the city's engineering department were not immediately returned. This post will be updated.
