Tacoma Apartment Complex Fire: 2 Injured, 18 Without Homes

A pair of people were hurt and over a dozen more displaced after an apartment complex fire early Monday morning.

TACOMA, WA — Two people were hurt and 18 total people displaced from their homes after a fire early Monday in a Tacoma apartment complex.

At around 2 a.m. Tacoma Fire reported their crews had been called to a complex burning in the 4300 block of S 41st St.

By the time they arrived, crews say flames were visible in three different stories of the building. They quickly went to work trying to contain the fire and search the building for any trapped residents.

Shortly afterwards Tacoma Fire reported that two residents were hurt. One was injured badly enough that they needed to be taken to a nearby hospital for more intensive treatment.

Ultimately, 18 people lost their homes to the fire. The Red Cross will be offering them shelter and support until they can find more permanent living arrangements.
