Third Street SE Closure In Puyallup Begins Friday

The closure will last through Monday and allow construction crews to completely reconstruct one block of Third Street.

PUYALLUP, WA — Beginning Friday, the city will temporarily close Third Street Southeast where it intersects with East Meeker and East Main Avenue. The closure will last through Monday, officials said.

The weekend closure will start at 6:30 p.m. June 21. According to the city, the closure will allow construction crews to conduct an excavation project, for which soil will be removed and replaced with clean fill material.

Additionally, the restoration project along Third Street will see to the reconstruction of existing storm drains, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, and pavement, officials said.

The closure is scheduled to end at 6:30 p.m. June 24.

Throughout the weekend, northbound drivers on Third Street will need to detour using East Meeker to Second Street Southeast. Southbound drivers on Second Street Northeast will need to turn right onto East Main Avenue after the railroad tracks and return to Second Street.
