Tip From Community Helps Troopers Catch Hit-And-Run Driver: WSP
A suspect has been booked for the hit-and-run crash in Summit earlier this week. The victim remains in the hospital.

SUMMIT, WA — The Washington State Patrol has arrested a woman who they say is behind a hit-and-run crash that put another driver in the hospital earlier this week.
According to WSP, just before midnight Monday, a driver hit a cable barrier on westbound State Route 512 near the intersection with Vickery Road in the Summit area.
But when that driver got out of their car to survey the damage, they stepped into the left lane of the road and were hit by another vehicle. The crash threw the driver onto the road's left shoulder and left them seriously injured. The other driver, meanwhile, fled the scene.

The victim has been taken to a nearby hospital and remains in treatment for their injuries.
Following the crash, WSP surveyed the scene and found a significant amount of debris from the hit-and-run vehicle. Based on their findings, they then asked the public to keep an eye out for a damaged Ford pick-up with a broken left blinker — a move that they say paid off, because a CrimeStoppers tip from a community member led them straight to a vehicle matching that description.
