WA State Fair To Host Drive-In Movie Benefiting Food Bank

In honor of the film's 35th anniversary, the state fair will be showing The Goonies this weekend in their blue lot.

PUYALLUP, WA — The Washington State Fair has organized a drive-in movie showing this weekend to help benefit the Puyallup Food Bank.

In recognition of the film's 35th anniversary, they'll be showing The Goonies at the fair's Blue Parking Lot on Saturday. The movie is expected to begin at 9 p.m. just after sunset. Gates will open at 7:30 p.m. and parking will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Tickets to the show are totally free, but organizers say they are encouraging viewers to bring canned foods or other shelf-stable foods to donate to the Puyallup Food Bank.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, a few safety requirements will be in place. Visitors will be asked to wear masks or facial coverings any time they're outside their vehicles, and Washington State Fair staff will be making sure that each car is parked a safe distance apart.

More information on the event can be found on the state fair's website.
