Washington State Fair, Sleep Country USA Sign Naming Rights Deal for Events Center

The exhibition center will be called the Sleep Country ShowPlex.

The Washington State Fair isn’t the only one taking on a new name. The fair announced Thursday that it reached a 10-year deal with Sleep Country USA for naming rights to the exhibition center on the fairgrounds.

The center will be called the Sleep Country ShowPlex, according to fair spokeswoman Karen LaFlamme. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

The mattress retailer, founded in 1991, has had a strong presence at the fair for years. The company is employee-owned with more than 80 locations in the Pacific Northwest and has an active program supporting foster children.

The Washington State Fair also recently got its new name, shedding the Puyallup Fair moniker to better reflect that it’s the largest fair in the state and one of the largest in the country.

Indoor signage for the new Sleep Country ShowPlex is going up now, with the hope that the outdoor signage will be up in time for the Spring Fair, April 18-21, LaFlamme said.
