WSP Asks For Public's Help Catching Hit-And-Run Driver

PUYALLUP, WA — Washington State Patrol is asking the public to keep their eyes peeled after a hit-and-run crash earlier this week.

Update: WSP has arrested a suspect in this case.

According to WSP, just before midnight Monday a driver hit a cable barrier on westbound State Route 512 near the intersection with Vickery Road in the Summit area.

That driver popped out of their vehicle through the front passenger side, but when they stepped into the left lane they were hit by another car. The impact threw the driver onto the road's left shoulder and left them seriously injured.

At that point, the other car just took off, leaving their victim wounded on the roadside.

Now, troopers are hoping to track down the hit-and-run driver, but say they need the public's help. Based on debris from the crash site, investigators say the car is likely either an older model Ford 250 or 350 pick-up truck, or an older Ford Transit van.

Either way, they say the vehicle was likely visibly damaged in the crash. That damage is likely centered around the left-front of the vehicle, and the left blinker is broken.
