REDMOND, WA — One person is dead after an SUV careened into a cement wall and rolled onto Redmond-Woodinville Road Northeast late Tuesday night. The Redmond Police Department released new details Wednesday morning.

According to police, a passer-by called 911 after seeing the crash scene. When officers arrived near the corner of Northeast 124th Street, they found the vehicle's only occupant had already died. Investigators said it did not appear any other vehicles or people were involved.

A preliminary investigation suggests speeding played a role in the crash, police said, but traffic detectives are still determining other potential factors. The King County Medical Examiner's Office will formally identify the driver pending family notification.
