Lake Washington Schools Foundation Supports Students and Families During Covid-19

CELEBRATING THEIR FIFTEENTH YEAR AND LAUNCHES ANNUAL FALL CAMPAIGN

Redmond, WA, October 16, 2020 – While it’s clear that this year poses many challenges for students and families across the Lake Washington School District (LWSD), the Lake Washington Schools Foundation (LWSF) continues to adapt and innovate to ensure our community does more than survive, but thrive.

LWSF celebrates its fifteenth year serving the community by offering youth mental wellness support through their Balance in Mind program by providing trainings for adults, webinars, and film screenings that provide tools and spread awareness surrounding mental health; Reach for Success grants that fund innovative programs and initiatives across LWSD schools; college-prep assistance through their Find Your Fit program to help guide high school students and parents along their college application journey; food support under the Pantry Packs program; mentoring with the LINKS program for elementary school students who benefit from additional social-emotional support; and much more.

“I’m awed and so grateful for the ongoing encouragement from our community and local businesses who’ve come together in making such a difference in these testing times,” says Board of Trustees President, Roy Captain. “We simply could not be as successful as we are or serve the students in our care without your generous support.”
