Detectives Investigate Child's Death In English Hill

King County detectives have released tragic new details in the ongoing investigation into a domestic violence call in English Hill.

REDMOND, WA — An 8-year-old child was found dead inside an English Hill home Tuesday morning after deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. The child's father remains hospitalized under police supervision, investigators said.

The update shared Thursday was the first since the sheriff's office confirmed the investigation Tuesday in the unincorporated community, located between Redmond and Woodinville.

According to Sergeant Tim Meyer, a sheriff's office spokesman, deputies were called to 179th Avenue Northeast shortly before 8 a.m. on Feb. 9. On arrival, deputies entered the home and discovered the child. Meyer said the child's father, a 37-year-old man, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
