First Public Hearing On Redmond's Budget Is On June 16
Goal of the public hearing is to gather community input about City issues, priorities and fiscal matters before the final budget is adopted.

Redmond, WA – The City of Redmond will host the first of three public hearings on the 2021-22 biennial budget on Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. during the regular business meeting of the City Council. The public can watch the meeting remotely through Redmond.gov/rctvlive, Facebook (@CityofRedmond), Comcast Channel 21, Frontier Channel 34, or listen to the meeting by calling 510-335-7371. Public comments related to the budget hearing can be submitted by email to bpquestions@redmond.gov.

The goal of the public hearing is to gather community input about City issues, priorities and fiscal matters before the final budget is adopted in December. June 16 is the first public hearing; however, public comments will be collected until the budget is adopted by the City Council on December 1.
In addition to public hearings, community members can voice their opinion about the budget through items from the audience at the Council’s regular business meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month or by email at bpquestions@redmond.gov.

Two more public hearings are scheduled for October 20 and November 2. In addition, there are eight budget study sessions scheduled in which the City Council will discuss various Budgeting by Priorities topics. The public is invited to attend study sessions, however these meetings are informational only as public comments regarding budget matters are only conducted at public hearings or through the other methods noted above.
The City uses the Budgeting by Priorities process for formation of the City’s biennial budget. This process identifies the community’s highest priority services. Budget information is available on the City’s website at www.redmond.gov/Budget.
