King County Closes Redmond Restaurant
County health inspectors found that the restaurant's refrigerator broke down.
REDMOND, WA - The Redmond location of a local chain of restaurants has been closed temporarily by King County for after a piece of a equipment broke down.
The county closed Ooba Tooba Restaurant, 15802 NE 83rd St., on Wednesday evening after inspectors found that the restaurant had "inadequate facilities to control/maintain food temperatures." In general, King County allows restaurants that close to reopen as soon as code violations are fixed.
In an email to Patch, Ooba Tooba said, "Our refrigeration unit broke down and we closed to make the repairs. We are installing a new refrigeration unit [Friday]. If all goes well we should be back up to speed by the beginning of next week."

According to county records, Ooba Tooba Restaurant has had a mixed health inspection record. The restaurant has a "needs to improve" rating. Since 2015, the restaurant has had four inspections where total violation points were above 30, including two occasions where total points were above 80.
