Lake Washington School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Lake Washington is September 5 for grades 1-12 and September 11 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Lake Washington School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/29 - 8/31: LEAP Days

September

• 9/1: LEAP Day
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day of School for Grades 1-12
• 9/5 - 9/8: Kindergarten Family Connections
• 9/11: First Day of School for Kindergarten
• 9/13: 1.5-Hour Early Release Schedule Begins

October

• 10/16 - 10/19: Elementary Half Days (Conferences)
• 10/20: No School for Students (LEAP Day)

November

• 11/7: Last Day of First Quarter (Secondary)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/14: Secondary Grades Due
• 11/22: Half Day
• 11/23 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Vacation)

December

• 12/18 - 1/1: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)
• 1/17: Elementary Grades Due
• 1/23: Elementary Half Day (Conferences)
• 1/25 - 1/26: Elementary Half Days (Conferences)
• 1/26: Last Day of First Semester (Secondary)
