Lime and the Go Redmond program are excited to announce that Lime’s inaugural Redmond First Ride training will occur at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, August 28th at Redmond Central Connector Park, located near the intersection of Leary Way and Bear Creek Parkway in Downtown Redmond.

At the training, attendees will complete scooter education and test drive scooters along a pre-planned course. The First Ride Training includes education on where to ride and park vehicles, helmet distribution, short practice rides followed by a 1.2-mile group ride on Downtown streets and bike lanes. Riders will gain confidence in use of the devices with the help of expert coaches.

The effort is part of a collaborative initiative between the Go Redmond and Lime to further build a culture of safety awareness relating to new mobility devices. This includes helping users comfortably understand how to ride, where to ride, and where to park scooters and bikes so as not to obstruct city sidewalks.

“At Lime we want everyone to have a safe experience with scooters in Redmond and we are
excited to work so closely with the community on this effort,” said Jonathan Hopkins, Lime’s
Director of Strategic Development in the Pacific Northwest. “The training will help users learn how to park vehicles, so they don’t obstruct others, and where to safely ride through the city.”

Interested participants can RSVP here. The first 40 people to RSVP and attend will be eligible
for a free helmet to take home.
