Live Music In Redmond On World 'Make Music Day'

From the City of Redmond: The City of Redmond celebrates its second year of participating in the worldwide event, Make Music Day on June 21. Live music performances will take place across the City of Redmond at no charge to the public.

This year programming will begin over the lunch hour throughout Downtown Redmond from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., including free performances on the Moving Art Center Stage along the Redmond Central Connector Trail.

The festivities continue at Idylwood Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enjoy additional performances and hands-on activities from trying new instruments with the School of Rock and Kindermusik to creating your own instruments. The evening will conclude with a special performance on the beach. Additional parking will be available at Audubon Elementary School with a free shuttle to Idylwood Park.

This international festival launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique and is now held on the same day in more than 700 cities across 120 countries. Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician can share their music with the community free of charge.
