Macy's To Close Another Washington Location

The closure was the only one announced in a February earnings report, according to a Macy's press release.

REDMOND, WA - Macy's will close the Redmond Town Center department store, according to an earnings report released in February. The Redmond location was the only closure announced in February, and will be the 83rd of a planned 100 closings first announced by Macy's in August 2016.

In the beginning of 2017, Macy's announced it would close the stores in Everett and Kelso. Nationwide, the Macy's closings will result in about 3,600 in-store job losses. The closure of two other Macy's stores in Washington will result in about 160 job losses. The Redmond store may close as early as the beginning of 2019.

There are at least 10 other Macy's department stores across Puget Sound that will remain open, including locations at the Tacoma Mall, Alderwood Mall, and Northgate Mall.
