New Downtown Redmond Parking Rules Take Effect

Redmond made a few tweaks to downtown parking rules, which took effect this week. Here's what to know.

REDMOND, WA — New downtown parking rules began in Redmond this week, making a few changes for commuters and neighbors. According to city officials, the updated framework is based on recommendations from the downtown parking management strategic plan, which aimed to make it easier to visit downtown businesses.

Here are three key changes to be aware of:

  • Mobile payments are now accepted via the Pay-by-Phone or Call-to-Park apps.
  • Parking is free for up to two hours and costs $1 for each additional hour.
  • The city no longer offers $5 daily permits for on-street parking.

Downtown parking regulations are in place Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., excluding holidays. On-street parking for scooters and motorcycles does not require a permit. Long-term parking permits are available on a monthly or annual basis.
