Redmond Courthouse Evacuated Due To Gas Odor

The courthouse was evacuated briefly Tuesday while crews searched for the source of a natural gas odor. Officials said it was a false alarm.

REDMOND, WA — The Redmond Courthouse was evacuated for close to an hour Tuesday morning as utility crews investigated reports of a natural gas smell in the building, officials said.

Redmond police announced evacuations at the King County District Court's East Division, located at 8601 160th Avenue Northeast, just a few minutes after 10 a.m. About an hour later, the Redmond Police Department announced there was no gas leak, and it appeared to be a false alarm. Normal operations resumed by 11 a.m.
