Redmond Police Search For Bank Robber Downtown
Police searched along Redmond Way on Wednesday morning, looking for a man suspected of robbing a US Bank.
The Redmond Police Department searched for the suspect in a bank robbery Wednesday morning, with detectives and canine teams deployed just east of Anderson Park. In a tweet, police asked neighbors to avoid Redmond Way, between 170th Avenue Northeast and Avondale, while the canine track continued.
The department also released a basic description of the man officers were looking for:
**SAFETY ALERT** Please avoid the area around Redmond Way from 170th Ave NE to Avondale if possible. Police are searching for a bank robbery suspect. He is described as a white male in his 50s, with gray facial hair, wearing a white hat, blue jacket & jeans. No weapon seen. pic.twitter.com/bMuiinSGcT

A police spokesperson told Patch that the initial robbery report came in from the US Bank on 17020 Redmond Way around 9 a.m. Investigators said the man did not show a weapon, and no threats were made during the robbery. He fled from the bank on foot.

Police announced the canine team finished the search just before 10:30 a.m. and did not find the suspect. Detectives will continue to investigate.
