Redmond Updating Impact Fees, Seeks Public Input

Redmond is updating the methodology for park impact fees residents, business owners, developers and others are encouraged to give input.

From City of Redmond: The City of Redmond is updating the methodology for park impact fees for the first time since 2006 to reflect changes in the updated parks capital improvement plan.

Park impact fees are assessed on new developments of all types to help pay for public park projects that accommodate the growth in our residential and employment populations. The state allows the assessment of park impact fees in order to support infrastructure planning in relation to the Growth Management Act. Impact fees collected over the past decade have contributed to the acquisition and development of park projects such as the Redmond Central Connector, Downtown Park, the expansion of Perrigo Park and more.
Residents, business owners, developers and other interested parties are encouraged to review the full proposal on the City’s website: www.redmond.gov/parkimpactfees, which includes a full explanation of the proposal, a presentation, and an online poll. On the website, you can also request a meeting with the project manager to discuss the proposal. A public meeting is planned for April 19, 2017 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Redmond City Hall.
