Want Bike Share In Redmond? Take This Survey
Bike share companies would scatter bikes throughout the city, which would be available for rent.

REDMOND, WA - If you've been to Seattle recently, you've seen what bike share looks like: brightly colored bicycles parked on street corners, at bus stops, and in some less convenient spots (like the bottom of Puget Sound). Redmond city officials are considering a pilot program to bring that model to the city.
Right now, the city is collecting input from residents on whether to move forward with the pilot. If the pilot moves forward, the city would grant a permit to bike share companies to place a finite number of bikes around the city, and to agree to maintain the bikes (including when the bikes are placed in a dangerous or other strange spots).
In Seattle, the companies LimeBike, Ofo, and Spin offer bikes for rent through a mobile app. Riders use the app to unlock the bike, and then pay at the end of their trip via the app. LimeBike has introduced electric-assist bikes that help riders get up steep hills.
