Massage Envy Host Healing Hands for Arthritis

On Sept. 19, $10 from every massage or facial benefits the Arthritis Foundation; Free massages at select locations for those living with arthritis.

Massage Envy is joining forces with the Arthritis Foundation to host Healing Hands for Arthritis. This annual one‐day national event builds awareness and raises funds to find a cure for arthritis.

On Sept. 19, all 22 Puget Sound area Massage Envy clinics and spas will donate $10 from every one‐hour massage or facial to the Arthritis Foundation, which raised nearly $500,000 last year. Renton has one Massage Envy location at The Landing. In addition, the  and Shoreline locations will offer those living with arthritis a free one-hour massage session.

“We strongly encourage the Puget Sound area community to come out on September 19 to support this great cause,” said Barney Nelson, Regional Developer for Massage Envy in Washington state, in a press release. “Arthritis affects 1.3 million people in our state, including 6,100 children and you can help fight this disease by treating yourself, a friend or family member to a relaxing and rejuvenating massage or facial.”

“Partnering with the Arthritis Foundation was a natural fit, as we both a share a common understanding about the seriousness of the disease and the potential power of massage therapy to relieve certain symptoms,” said Nelson in the release. “Regular massage therapy provides several health benefits, including stress and pain relief, which is something nearly everyone can benefit from.”
