RENTON, WA — The usual July 4 festivities at Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park are on hold until 2022, but the park will be open for families looking to catch a little sun on Independence Day. Gene Coulon will be open for modified hours on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., with the Ivar's and Kid Valley restaurants open until 6:30 p.m.
Lifeguards will be on duty for the summer starting on July 4 at both Gene Coulon and Kennydale Beach Park, with staffed hours from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Renton Police Department will be on patrol in the area for the holiday, along with Renton Regional Fire Authority's water rescue unit.
