Fairwood Family Lose Home in Fire

A woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after she was rescued from her burning Fairwood home Wednesday morning.

Renton Deputy Fire Chief Greg Hartman said the fire was reported at about 4:45 a.m. on the 16000 block of 132nd Place S.E. The home was fully engulfed.

No other injuries were reported.

KIRO reports the woman is in her 60s and had become trapped though her two family members were able to escape the home without harm.

According to The Renton Reporter, both the woman and her husband required assistance to exit the burning home; her husband was also transported for smoke inhalation. Their daughter was able to escape without help.

The cause remains under investigation.
