Please Welcome Heidi Bujak & Bryan Routon, Our Newest Bloggers

Do you have an opinion, experience, or expertise you'd like to share? We welcome you to blog on Patch, too!

During the last week, Renton Patch welcomed two new bloggers, Heidi Bujak and Bryan Routon.

Bujak writes about "Alley Cats" in her first post, but she's not talking about feral felines. Thugs are her main concern. The lack of fencing and unkempt alleyways in downtown Renton aid in their illegal behavior and ability to elude the police, she writes.

One way to fight back is by requiring homeowners to fence their property.

"Its a little law and can do a lot of good for an entire community making it safer for all of us," she writes. "All homes are to have their back yards fenced and alleys groomed."

Would you be in favor of a fence law in order to improve neighborhood safety?

Our other new blogger writes on an entirely different subject. Routin's post is a plea for help to assisit a Tacoma teen caught in the vicious cycle of disordered eating.

"Labs the next day showed that the potassium levels in her bloodstream had dropped so low that her muscles had literally frozen up, and she was at risk for a heart attack. They also showed kidneys that were at risk of shutting down due to dehydration," he wrote. "She was immediately hospitalized."

The teen's medical bills and subsequent treatment aren't cheap, so Routon is asking for the community's help.

"Her friends and family have organized a fundraiser through the crowdfunding website indiegogo.com in order to raise the funds needed to send Sarah to a treatment center," he wrote.
