Recycle Tires, Mattresses And More In Renton On Saturday
Renton Technical College is hosting another recycling event this weekend, focused on mattresses, tires and cardboard items.
RENTON, WA — Renton neighbors have another chance this weekend to offload a few large and tricky items for proper disposal during a Saturday recycling event at Renton Technical College. The latest event will collect mattresses, box springs, cardboard and tires. Only mattresses will require a fee, $15 each, and the rest can be dropped off for free.
Weekend Recycling Event
- Date: Saturday, June 12
- Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- Place: Renton Technical College (North Parking Lot)
- NE 6th Pl. & Monroe Ave. NE
- Vehicles may enter only from southbound Monroe Ave. NE
Saturday's event is the second of three recycling programs planned this year at the college, funded by King County, and visitors can also bring along non-perishable food items to donate.

Here is what you can bring:
- Mattresses ($15 each)
- Must be dry and with no excessive stains or bedbugs.
- Cardboard
- All items must be flattened
- Car, truck and motorcycle tires
- Bias-ply, steel-belted and studded tires are accepted
- Tires should be removed from their tims
- Limit of 10 tires per load
- Cannot accept semi-truck or tractor tires
The next city-hosted recycling event is planned for Sept. 18, which will accept styrofoam items and documents to shred. For those who cannot make it to Saturday's event, a few more resources around the region are available online.
