Seattle Area Teen Helped Find Tom Brady's Stolen Super Bowl Jerseys

A Patriots fan in Seahawks territory provided a crucial tip in finding Brady's jersey stolen after recent Super Bowls, according to reports.

KENT, WA - A local 19-year-old New England Patriots fan was instrumental in returning Tom Brady's stolen Super Bowl jerseys - one of which was stolen after the Pats beat the Seahawks in the 2015 Super Bowl. Dylan Wagner was able to help the FBI track down the jerseys due his knowledge of sports memorabilia. On Monday, Brady showed off the returned jerseys at Fenway Park before Red Sox opening day.

Wagner's help in returning the jerseys was uncovered by Boston TV station WBZ. According to the station, Wagner in December sold a jersey on eBay to Martin Mauricio Ortega, the Mexican media executive who the FBI and Mexican authorities on March 12 recovered the jerseys from.

Wagner and Ortega traded photos of their memorabilia collections, according to WBZ, which is when Wagner spotted Brady's jerseys. At the time, no one knew that one of Brady's jerseys was stolen after the 2015 Super Bowl versus the Seahawks. Brady didn't reveal the theft until another jersey was stolen after the Super Bowl in February.

According to Seattle's KIRO 7, Wagner's information about Ortega was initially brushed off by law enforcement and the NFL. It wasn't until he contacted the Texas Ranger Division - the 2017 Super Bowl was in Houston - that his tip gained traction.
