Speeding Reminder as Schools Resume: Keep it to 20 MPH

It’s back-to-school for students in the Renton School District and throughout the region. That means that children will be crossing streets and walking to school along busy roads. Please watch for children as they make their way to and from school. The speed limit near schools during school hours is 20 miles per hour. School zone flashing beacons have been programmed at many schools and speed cameras have been placed in several school zones. Fines for speeding in a school zone can be as much as $250.
