4 Washington Restaurants Land On Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat

SEATTLE, WA — Four Washington eateries earned a spot on Yelp's list of the Top 100 Places To Eat in 2020. The restaurant review website said its annual list includes everything from food trucks to fine dining, and the rankings were determined based on user ratings, the number of reviews last year, and input from community managers.

The Washington restaurant placing highest on Yelp's list is Taneda Sushi in Kaiseki, an upscale sushi spot on Seattle's Capitol Hill. The intimate space has seating for just 17 diners, and reservations can be made up to two months in advance. According to the restaurant's website, the menu changes daily, based on the season and the weather. The cost for a meal starts at $124.

Next is Ferndale's beloved New Mexico Tamale Company, boasting a full five stars on Yelp among almost 100 reviews. The restaurant serves up burritos, chilaquiles, rolled tacos, and — of course — tamales in several varieties. Their signature food can be ordered as a single meal, or by the dozen. The restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. seven days a week.

Representing Pierce County on the list is Tibbitts @ Fern Hill, a popular place for breakfast and lunch in south Tacoma. Since opening in 2017, Tibbitts has earned hundreds of glowing reviews and built a nearly flawless Yelp record. Every dish is made from scratch and prepared by chef, owner and restaurant namesake, Shawn Tibbitts. The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Rounding out the Washington representation is The Box & Burgers Eatery in Kirkland's Totem Hill Plaza. Burgers come in an array of adventurous pairings, fusing elements from Asian cuisines with one of America's favorite food items. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. A food truck, with a condensed menu, travels to neighboring cities throughout the week.
