BELLEVUE, WA — Did you fall for an April Fools' prank this year? Hopefully not, because a few of the local pranks this year were particularly outlandish.

From double-decker police cars in Bellevue to a new name for Pike Place Market, here are just a few local pranks we came across:

King County Metro used April Fools' Day to promote its recent 3rd Avenue all-door boarding switch and the West Seattle water taxi. The two services are so popular, why not combine them?

University of Washington police took it back to the mid-1990s. The department said it was creating a "blade unit."

Pike Place Name Change?

This one is from The Needling, a local satire site (and by that we mean they poke fun at local things). They publish stuff like this every day, but changing the name of a famous local landmark is a classic April Fools gag.

Double Decker Cops

Local police departments really got into April Fools this year. Bellevue police riffed on double-decker Sound Transit buses with new double-decker police cars.

Hikers Love Milk

The Washington Trails Association came out with a trend piece on how hikers are really getting into milk.

“On a hot day you just can’t beat the taste of ice-cold milk,” WTA quoted one hiker as saying.

Cops On Scooters

Washington State Patrol decided to go small. They debuted new scooters, which probably can't be used on I-5.

Seattle Mariners Winning

And finally, someone said the Seattle Mariners are in first place. That has to be a gag, right?

No, it's not.
