SEATTLE, WA - Popular KEXP Morning Show host John Richards will branch out into the nightlife business. Richards is planning to open a bar called Life On Mars on Capitol Hill this spring with help from the owners of Neumos.

Richards announced the name of the bar and projected open date Monday morning in a tweet. Life On Mars - a song from David Bowie's album "Hunky Dory" - will open at Pike and Harvard Avenue, one block west of Broadway, in May. The bar will feature a menu of "plant-based" food, he said.

Richards will open the bar with Neumos owner Steven Severin, former Vera Project board member Leigh Sims, and his partner, Amy Richards.
