Seattle Is Getting A Second Shake Shack

The burger chain this week announced two new locations in the Seattle area, which will hopefully relieve lines in South Lake Union.

KIRKLAND, WA - Shake Shack is bringing its double-burgers, hand-spun shakes, and notoriously long lines to Kirkland and the University District, according to reports.

Shake Shack opened its first Pacific Northwest location in South Lake Union in October, and has been hampered by long wait times ever since. No wonder: it's the only Shake Shack north of San Francisco and west of Denver.

The restaurant will be located at the under-construction Kirkland Urban development and will feature other worthy local eateries, including Dough Zone, Caffe Ladro, and Evergreens Salad. The development is going up near the intersection of 6th Street and Central Way.

Kirkland Urban and the Shake Shack are both slated to open as soon as late summer or early fall.

The University Village location will be located in the old Ravenna Gardens store, Eater Seattle reported on Wednesday.
