Seattle Police Remember 2 Officers Killed 47 Years Ago
Officer James H. St. Delore and Officer James M. Forbe died when their helicopter crashed into a small plane.

SEATTLE, WA — The Seattle Police Department paused to remember and honor two officers killed in the line of duty nearly 50 years ago.
Officer James H. St. Delore and Officer James M. Forbes lost their lives on June 21, 1974, according to the department.
Officer Delore was a helicopter pilot for the police department. On June 21, he and Officer Forbes were on-board the aircraft, responding to a disturbance involving a weapon on 37th Ave South, police said.

While circling overhead, Seattle police said the helicopter collided with a Cessna preparing to land at Boeing Field.
Both officers were killed, as were both occupants of the Cessna.

Officer Delore was survived by his wife and two children. Officer Forbes was survived by his wife and three children.
