Seattle 'Prison Cell' Apartment Features Exposed Toilet

For $750, you get a room with a toilet, sink, and not much else, according to a post on the photo-sharing site Imgur.

SEATTLE, WA - This is what $750 a month gets you in Seattle: a room with a toilet and a window.

A post appeared on the website Imgur Wednesday night of a truly depressing apartment in increasingly-expensive Seattle. It shows an odd triangle shaped room with a toilet, sink, and shower tucked into one corner. And, except for a window (with a view of an adjacent building), not much else.

Comments on the post call the apartment a "prison cell," and balk at the "downright sleazy" $750 monthly rent.

But, perhaps $750 is a bargain. According to Rentjungle.com, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Seattle is $1,924 per month. Rents have been rising steadily over the past five years as highly-paid tech workers have flocked to Seattle to work at companies like Amazon.

"I"m disgusted by what Seattle has become," reads one comment.
