Seattle Sounders Plan For The Return Of Full Capacity Matches
The Sounders will restore full capacity in the lower bowl this month. Once the state reopens, proof of vaccination will not be required.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Sounders will welcome more fans back to Lumen Field later this month as the club plots a course to restoring full capacity matches and dropping vaccination checks no later than July. The Sounders unveiled their capacity plans for the remainder of the season Wednesday, starting with changes for the next three home matches scheduled June 23, June 26 and July 7.
For the upcoming matches, Lumen Field's lower bowl will reopen both for single-game tickets and for season-ticket holders who have seats in that section. Right now, the new full capacity section will be limited to those who can show proof of vaccination and children ages 5 to 15 with a recent negative COVID-19 test.
That means adults planning to sit in the section will need to have had their second dose of Moderna or Pfizer or single dose of Johnson & Johnson no later than June 9. However, if Washington reaches its reopening target early, the Sounders could instead play all three games at full capacity and without vaccination checks.

"When Washington State fully opens for all sectors, no proof of vaccination or negative test will be required," the club wrote Wednesday. "Should that occur prior to June 23, then the club's next three matches would then proceed under reopened guidelines, at full capacity with no proof of vaccination required. The club will send further public communications in this event."
Under Gov. Jay Inslee's direction, Washington will fully reopen by June 30, but it could reopen sooner if the state reaches the 70 percent mark for residents 16 and older having at least one dose of vaccine. As of June 2, Washington was closing in on the 63 percent mark.
