Seattle's Renowned Salumi Moves To Bigger Space

Will this mean shorter lines at the region's premier smoked and cured meats restaurant?

SEATTLE, WA - Seattle's most famous purveyor of smoked and cured meats has moved into a new space, which might help alleviate persistently long lines.

For decades, Salumi had served and produced its charcuterie out of a tiny spot on Yesler Way. The restaurant recently moved into a larger dining space along Occidental Square (the former Rain Shadow Meats store), and opened a production facility in Kent.

With a bigger production facility, you might not have to even go to Salumi's deli (AKA salumeria) to eat. Salumi's new owners plan to sell charcuterie in local grocery stores.

Salumi was founded in 1999 by Armandino and Marilyn Batali, but is now majority owned by Martinique Grigg and Clara Veniard. Batali's daughter, Gina, and son-in-law, Brian D'Amato, retain part ownership.

You can visit the new, bigger Salumi today at 404 Occidental Ave South in Pioneer Square.
