A person called 911 Monday afternoon to report a possible assault victim laying on the sidewalk in the 10500 block of Aurora Avenue North.

Officers arrived and immediately began first aid but Seattle Fire Department Medics declared the 35-year-old dead at the scene. During treatment, medics discovered a bullet wound in the victim’s leg.

The Medical Examiner has ruled this death is a homicide and detectives are now investigating.
